COSV – Project Manager, Beirut

Position: Project Manager in COSV organisation
Based in: Beirut
Reporting to: General Director
Contract duration: 6 months

Responsibility:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the achievement of the initiative funded by the Italian Cooperation, supporting displaced and refugees communities. He/She shall ensure timely and successful achievement of all project’s activities, in line with the objectives outlined in the proposal and in compliance with COSV high-quality standards and Donor’s regulations.
Requirements:
- At least three years of professional experience in emergency contexts in a similar position;
- Excellent knowledge of humanitarian assistance standards and processes, with a special reference to Food Security, Nutrition and NFI clusters;
- Previous experience in remote management of humanitarian initiatives;
- Proven experience in the elaboration, management and follow-up of international tendering/procurement activities;
- Good strategic capacity to identify and develop relevant opportunities and project proposals in line with COSV Country Mission;
- Previous experience in the management of initiatives funded by Italian Cooperation will be an asset
- Excellent social and public representation skills, embedding analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution approach;
- Italian native speaker; fluent in English, both oral and written; good knowledge of Arabic is highly appreciated;
- Previous knowledge of the regional context is preferred;
Main tasks:
Project Cycle Management:
- Identify and plan in advance all procurement procedures to purchase the food baskets, in tight coordination with the Local Administrator;
- Follow-up the preparation, launch and management of tenders for all the supplies required during the lifespan of the project;
- Project implementation:
- Plan and forecast all project’s activities;
- Coordinate implementation, follow-up and monitoring of running activities;
- Coordinate all financial and logistic matters of the project;
- Maintain good, tight relationship with project counterparts, internal and external;
- Undertake regular evaluations of the activities implemented and ensure an efficient use of resources;
- Reporting
- Set up a timely, precise time schedule to submit project reports to the Donor;
- Elaborate project narrative reports and support the drafting of financial reports, regularly cross-checking budget and accounting information;
- Ensure constant and effective flow of information with the team;
Monitoring:
- Guarantee compliance with high-quality technical standards during the whole lifespan of the project;
- Gather relevant technical information, assess risks and opportunities related to the project;
- Undertake quality control measures;
- Analyse and capitalise on all added values arising from the project;
- Undertake exercises to evaluate project’s activities during/after their implementation;
Knowledge Management:
- Collect relevant information, tools and methodologies employed during the project;
- Draft notes including details on best practices and lessons learnt during the project’s implementation;
- Share notes with the staff active in the region, HQs and eventual relevant project’s partners and associates;
