La ONG CUAMM Medici con l’Africa sta selezionando quattro nuove figure per la sua operatività in Sierra Leone.

Founded in 1950, Doctors with Africa CUAMM was the first non-governmental organization focused on healthcare to be recognized by the Italian government. It is now the country’s leading organization working to protect and improve the wellbeing and health of vulnerable communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Working with international and local partner teams, CUAMM provides medical aid and expertise in seven African countries: Angola, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda.

1) Senior Gynaecologist 
DEADLINE: 26th January 2017 |Starting date: February 2017

CANDIDATE ROLE:
The Senior Gynaecologist will work in the Government Hospital of Bo, Sierra Leone. He/she will be responsible of coordinating, supervising and working alongside the local staff in the treatment of gynaecological and obstetric patients in the operating theatre as well as in the Out Patients Department. The Senior Gynaecologist will respond to the Health Coordinator, who is in charge of the management and organisation of the medical activity of Doctors with Africa in Sierra Leone, and to the Project Manager.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
– Medical Degree, and current professional registration in his country of residence;
– Specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with at least 10 years’ relevant professional experience;
– Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
– Previous professional experience in Developing Countries;
– Willing to work in a multicultural team, adaptable and resilient to stress;
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
– Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
– Manage the gynaecological/obstetric area, carrying out clinical activity and monitoring the coverage and quality of services provided in the delivery room, OT, OPD and in the maternity in general;
– Contribute to the improvement of the wards management;
– Manage and mentor the local medical staff through theoretical and practical trainings;
– Collaborate in promoting the access to hospital services from the community of the hospital catchment area;
– Support the work of the PH expert in collecting hospital data and preparing reports.

TERMS OF CONTRACT:
Work station: Bo Government Hospital, Bo, Sierra Leone
Starting date: February 2017
Duration: 11 months
Salary: according to experience from 3,500 euros gross per month
Accommodation provided by Doctors with Africa CUAMM
One A/R ticket for the entire duration of the mission
30 working days of holidays per year
Insurance expenditure covered by Doctors with Africa CUAMM

2) Logistics Officer 
DEADLINE: 21st January 2017 | Starting date: as soon as possible

CANDIDATE ROLE:
The Logistics Officer will be based in Pujehun supervising the constructions in Pujehun district under the direction of the Project Manager. He/she will also monitor the status of vehicles belongings to the NGO (maintenance, movements, fuel consumption) and the maintenance works in the hospital.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
– Previous work experience in developing countries in the field of logistics;
– Experience in coordinating other people and creating efficient teams of work;
– Willing to work in a multicultural team, adaptable and resilient to stress;
– Knowledge of procurement procedures for goods and services;
– Experience in planning, developing and supervising construction building projects;
– Good knowledge of English;
– Computer literacy (office package).

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
– Technical supervision of construction and rehabilitation works in the project sites;
– Support Project Managers in purchasing activities and organizing transport of goods and materials from and to the field;
– Supervise and strengthen the local logistics team;
– Plan logistics and accommodation for international staff;
– Organize and coordinate international staff movements and travels;
– Ensure proper storage of project materials and stock management.

TERMS OF CONTRACT:
Work station: Pujehun
Starting date: as soon as possible
Duration: 2 months with possibility of extension
Salary: according to experience 1,600 euros gross per month
Shared accommodation provided by Doctors with Africa CUAMM
One A/R ticket for the entire duration of the mission
30 working days of holidays per year
Insurance expenditure covered by Doctors with Africa CUAMM

3) Public Health Expert 
DEADLINE: 26th January 2017 | Starting date: February 2017

CANDIDATE ROLE:
The Public Health Expert will be in charge of managing both the organizational aspects of the project and the specific tasks of working at community and hospital level. He/She will work in team together with Doctors with Africa CUAMM Gynaecologist and Midwife as well as together with the local staff working at hospital and PHUs level. There will also be a strong collaboration with the local authorities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
– Degree or Master in Hygiene and Public Health; Clinical Degree (Doctor or Nurse) is an asset;
– Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
– Experience in medical programmes in developing countries is an asset;
– Experience in staff-training component is an asset;
– Experience in managing donor-funded programs is an asset;
– Knowledge of and/or proven interest in research;
– Computer literacy (office package);
– Willing to work in a multicultural team, adaptable and resilient to stress;
– Willing to work in a remote area;
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
– Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
– Provide technical assistance to the District Health Management Team (DHMT);
– Support Data Collection and Data Analysis both at Hospital and District Level alongside Doctors with Africa CUAMM staff;
– Collaborate in the development of the Referral System, connecting Primary and Secondary health care;
– Support the DHMT to perform regular supervision visits, training on the job and continuing education activities for the staff of the health facilities;
– Coordinate program activities with District Stakeholder and Partners and attend coordination meetings;
– Compile activities reports for Donors.

TERMS OF CONTRACT
Work station: Bonthe District, Sierra Leone
Starting date: February 2017
Duration: 11 months
Salary: according to experience 2,000 euros gross per month
Accommodation provided by Doctors with Africa CUAMM
One A/R ticket for the entire duration of the mission
30 working days of holidays per year

4) Roving Finance Officer 
DEADLINE: 26th January 2017 |Starting date: February 2017

The Roving Finance Officer will be responsible of the management of the financial and administrative aspects of Doctors with Africa CUAMM projects. Based in Freetown, he/she will oversees the work of the local accountants in the field through weekly visits in the project locations. He/she will respond to the Country Administrator.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
– Degree in Business and Administration or related discipline;
– At least 3 years work experience in financial management of international development projects;
– Knowledge of procurement for goods and services, HR and accounting procedures;
– Experience in coordinating other people and creating efficient teams of work;
– Willing to work in a multicultural team, adaptable and resilient to stress;
– Experience in planning, developing and supervising project proposals;
– Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English. Knowledge of Italian language is considered an asset;
– Computer literacy (Office package) and knowledge of book-keeping software systems.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
– Monitor project expenditure and support project managers in planning and preparing periodic financial reports;
– Prepare periodical report in line with donors procedures;
– Managing bank account and cash related to the projects;
– Keep proper and accurate records of all the financial transactions using Lotus book-keeping software;
– Ensure that all the financial documentation is available on time and sent in order to CUAMM HQ;
– Manage the administrative aspect of the projects (contracts of staff, payment of salaries, taxes, etc.);
– Collaborate with the logistics team to purchase materials and prepare contracts with suppliers and contractors following both Doctors with Africa CUAMM and donors’ procedures;
– Collaborate with the logistics team in the management of the fleet vehicles;
– Supervise and strengthen the local staff in the field.

TERMS OF CONTRACT:
Work station: Freetown with dedicated missions around the Country
Starting date: February 2017
Duration: 11 months
Salary: according to experience from 1,800 euros gross per month
Accommodation provided by Doctors with Africa CUAMM
One A/R ticket for the entire duration of the mission
30 working days of holidays per year
Insurance expenditure covered by Doctors with Africa CUAMM
