Coalition 2030 Coordinator
Coalition 2030 is seeking applications for a part-time position of Coalition 2030 Coordinator.
- Duration: 12 months (Renewable based on funding availability)
- Commencing: Immediately
- Part-time: 3-days a week
- Remuneration: €30,000
- Reporting to: Steering Committee of Coalition 2030
- Location: IEN Offices, 1 Green St, Dublin 7
BACKGROUND
Coalition 2030 is an alliance of civil society organisations committed to and working towards upholding Ireland’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at home in Ireland and in over 50 countries by 2030. It comprises over 40 organisations – international and domestic NGOs as well as environmental groups, academics, and Trade Unions.
We have a shared vision “to transform our world through collaborative partnerships that will free the human race from the tyranny of poverty and want, and to heal and secure our planet”. In embarking on this collective journey to implement Agenda 2030 – the plan of action for people, planet and prosperity – we pledge that no one will be left behind.
DUTIES
Communications & events
- Actively manage a website and other social media to facilitate information sharing among the membership;
- Support the coordination of SDG events, where relevant
- Prepare a short e-letter to members to capture events, activities and relevant reports
Policy co-ordination
- Prepare messaging and policy briefings which will involve consultation with the membership
- Monitor relevant policy issues related to the SDGs
- Coordinate evidence, analysis and reports on the SDGs, at national, EU and international levels
Administration
- Respond to and deal with all new membership queries and applications
- Maintain membership email lists and details
- Seek new members, if relevant, and provide basic induction on the coalition
- Administer all meetings of Coalition 2030, both with duties to include facilitation, minute taking and follow up actions
- Manage basic finances of network, including invoicing and keeping a basic expenditure record

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Relevant third level education
- Experience of planning and coordination
- Ability to organise events and actions
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Good computer and social networking skills
- Experience managing websites and social media,
- Experience in policy creation and documentation
- Ability to work well under pressure and capacity to prioritise tasks effectively
- A self-starter, with an ability to demonstrate initiative and innovative, flexible and adaptable work approaches
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of campaigning and social change
- Experience of supporting coalitions, consortiums and collective ways of working
- Excellent analysis and research skills
- Experience of working in and an understanding of the community and voluntary sector
