    Feedback is an environmental organisation that campaigns to end food waste at every level of the food system. We catalyse action on eliminating food waste globally, working with governments, international institutions, businesses, NGOs, grassroots organisations and the public to change society’s attitude toward wasting food. We run a number of high profile campaigns and offer an expert voice on food waste – recently featuring in Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s major series ‘War on Waste’.

    About the Role:

    The Fundraising Coordinator – Major Appeals, will play a key role in building the organisation’s capacity for fundraising from individual donors and help to develop other key income streams including digital fundraising. At present Feedback is mainly funded by income from trusts and grants, but we are in the process of launching a major appeal to diversify our income and take the organisation to a new level so that we can fund the battle against food waste for the next three years.

    The Fundraising Coordinator – Major Appeals, will plan events, research donors and monitor the overall progress of the major donors appeal. The postholder will work to engage supporters, create connections and develop the organisation’s networks.

    As a member of a small and busy team the post holder will also be expected to contribute to other fundraising projects including digital fundraising development, grant applications and reporting. A key part of the role will be communicating the work of the organisation to different audiences and types of supporters.

    This will be a varied role within a fast paced environment, therefore flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude and a readiness to get stuck in to all aspects of the organisation are essential competencies of the successful candidate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Project manage the delivery of major donor events (approx. 4 per year);
    • Monitor and report on the overall progress of the major donors programme;
    • Manage communications with supporters and potential supporters;
    • Research fundraising prospects and prepare briefings for other staff and trustees;
    • Attend public facing events organised by Feedback or others when necessary;
    • Contribute to the overall business development of the fundraising function, specifically in the area of digital fundraising;
    • Support other fundraising staff as necessary, particularly in the preparation of trust and grant applications and reports, and on direct marketing work for fundraising.

    Person Specification:


    • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience;
    • Fundraising experience or equivalent transferable experience from another sector (EG client account management);
    • Strong writing skills and good attention to detail;
    • A willingness to be ‘hands-on’ and flexible and displaying an ability to deliver against tight timescales when necessary;
    • Planning and organisational ability;
    • Experience of planning and delivering events;
    • Team player who can work effectively with diverse groups as well as a self-starter who can work independently when necessary;
    • A commitment to the objectives and core values of Feedback.


    • Experience working in a start-up/small charity;
    • Understanding and experience of the environment/food sector;
    • Experience of working on a major donors programme;
    • Experience of working on trusts and grants fundraising;
    • Experience of working on digital fundraising.

    Salary: £26000-28000 pro rata, depending on experience
    Days: 3 or 4 days per week, to be negotiated with successful candidate
    Duration: Initially a 1 year contract with strong possibility of renewal/ permanent role
